ADMISSIONS FOR 2023/24 - NOW OPEN

We are pleased to open up our admissions process for the eighteenth academic session at Preston International School which will commence on Saturday 9th September 2023.  Thanks to all our prospective parents for choosing Preston International School as your child's alma mater.  This year, we are again offering both online and physical in-person options for the entrance examinations.  

SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS

The following scholarships will be won by candidates who achieve the best three results for the physical entrance examination written into JSS1 only on Saturday the 4th of March, 2023:

1st position - 100% Tuition (N750,000)

2nd position - 75% Tuition (N562,500)

3rd position - 50% Tuition (N375,000)

There will also be consolation prizes for those who come 4th to 10th.

PHYSICAL/IN-PERSON OPTION

STEP 3: If hard copy form was purchased, please kindly fill and return to the centre or scan and email the form to office@preston-international.com.  A member of our team will be in touch with you via the telephone numbers provided on the form to provide further guidance and confirm date of entrance exam.  

Physical/In-Person Examination Dates:

  • Saturday 4th March, 2023 (9.00am WAT) (All Centres) SCHOLARSHIP EXAM DATE
  • Saturday 13th May, 2023 (9.00am WAT) (All Centres)
  • Saturday 5th August, 2023 (9.00am WAT) (Supplementary exam.  This will be held ONLY on the premises of Preston International School, Akure.)

 

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

  1. Age: Students must be at least 10 years old before the resumption date.

  2. Class: Pupils must have completed at least Primary five (5) before they can be considered for admission. 

  3. Selection Process: Before pupils can be admitted, they must sit and pass a written examination comprising Mathematics, English and General Aptitude.  They will also attend an interview after writing the examination.  Virtual interviews will be conducted for online candidates.

  4. Independence: Pupils must be able to wash their own clothes, look after themselves and keep their belongings safe, clean and tidy.

  5. Health: As a fully residential, boarding school, pupils are required to be in a good state of health in order to be able to cope with the demands and requirements of living with minimal support in a boarding school.  Therefore, pupils who have conditions which require such special care and attention for which we may not have the facilities or the skills with which to look after them satisfactorily may not be admitted.  Failure to declare such health conditions prior to admission being offered may lead to withdrawal of the admission offer at any point in the academic year.

  6. Transfer Students: Students on transfer from other schools are required to produce their transfer certificate / testimonial / letter of recommendation from their previous schools.
