TEACHING POSITIONS

Early Years Teacher (EYFS)

Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Early Years Teacher at Preston International School, located in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, developing lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to meet the needs of young learners, and evaluating pupils' progress. The role involves creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where each child can thrive and implementing classroom management strategies to ensure a well-ordered learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching young children, particularly in an early years/playgroup or similar setting

Teaching Assistants

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Teaching Assistant located in Akure. The Teaching Assistant will support classroom management, assist in lesson preparation, and provide additional support to students. Responsibilities include grading assignments, organizing educational materials, and collaborating with teachers to maintain a positive learning environment. The role demands active participation in school activities and events.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Teacher of I.C.T. at Preston International School, Akure.  The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum, conducting assessments, and maintaining classroom discipline. Additionally, the teacher will utilize modern pedagogical techniques to improve student understanding and engagement in I.C.T.  Responsibilities include lesson planning, student evaluation, and participation in extracurricular activities and staff meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of I.C.T. and curriculum development
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments and evaluations
  • Effective classroom management and discipline skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with modern pedagogical techniques and state-of-the-art educational technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Previous teaching experience in I.C.T. is preferred

NON-TEACHING POSITIONS

House Parents (Male and Female)

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for House Parents at Preston International School, Akure. House Parents will oversee the day-to-day welfare and pastoral care of secondary school students, ensuring their safety, emotional well-being, and adherence to school rules. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, providing guidance and counseling, maintaining discipline within the boarding house, and fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for students. House Parents will also act as role models, promoting good behavior, academic growth, and moral development in line with the school's values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Experience in mentoring or counselling.

 

Head of Maintenance

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head of Maintenance, based in Akure. The Head of Maintenance will oversee and coordinate the maintenance of school facilities and grounds. Daily tasks include managing repair and upkeep of school buildings, supervising maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, planning and executing maintenance schedules, and coordinating with external contractors. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining a functional and safe educational environment.

Qualifications

  • Skills in building maintenance, electrical systems, and plumbing
  • Experience in managing and supervising maintenance staff
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to coordinate with external contractors

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, engineering, or related field

 

Maintenance Officers

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Officer at Preston International School in Akure. The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of school facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff. Daily tasks include inspecting buildings, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with external contractors under the leadership of the Head of Maintenance for specialised repairs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and systems
  • Proficiency in performing repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment inspection
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in a similar role or environment is beneficial
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
