  • Teacher of French

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Teacher of French at Preston International Nursery and Primary School in Akure. The Teacher of French will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging French language lessons, assessing student progress, managing the classroom environment, and supporting students in their academic and personal development. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to the school's extracurricular activities.

  • Teacher of Information and Communications Technology

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Teacher of ICT at Preston International School, located in Akure. The Teacher of ICT will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective ICT lessons to students, planning and preparing class materials, assessing student progress, and providing feedback. This role involves using modern teaching techniques and technology tools to enhance learning experiences. The Teacher of ICT will also participate in school events, staff meetings, and contribute to the development of the school's ICT curriculum.

    Qualifications

  • Proficient in ICT subject knowledge, including programming, software development, and digital literacy
  • Experience in delivering the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum for ICT
  • Experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment

  • Head of Maintenance

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head of Maintenance, based in Akure. The Head of Maintenance will oversee and coordinate the maintenance of school facilities and grounds. Daily tasks include managing repair and upkeep of school buildings, supervising maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, planning and executing maintenance schedules, and coordinating with external contractors. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining a functional and safe educational environment.

  • Skills in building maintenance, electrical systems, and plumbing

The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of school facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff. Daily tasks include inspecting buildings, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with external contractors under the leadership of the Head of Maintenance for specialised repairs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and systems
  • Proficiency in performing repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment inspection
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in a similar role or environment is beneficial
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices

  • Gardeners

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Gardener located in Akure. The Gardener will be responsible for maintaining the school's gardens and grounds, including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and mowing. The Gardener will ensure the outdoor areas are kept tidy and presentable. Additional duties include applying fertilizers, pesticides, and managing waste disposal related to gardening activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in gardening, plant care, and landscaping
  • Knowledge of different plants, soils, and gardening techniques

Other duties include preparing reports, managing office supplies, and liaising with staff, students, and parents to facilitate communication within the school.

  • Account Officer/Store Keeper

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for an Account Officer/Store Keeper. The individual will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing inventories, and ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions. Day-to-day tasks include bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, tracking incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring proper storage of supplies, and performing regular audits. This role is located in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.

    Qualifications

  • Proficiency in bookkeeping, accounting, and financial reporting

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for House Parents at Preston International School. House Parents are responsible for overseeing the welfare, safety, and discipline of students in the boarding house. They provide emotional and social support, help with academic supervision, and ensure that students adhere to school rules and routines. House Parents also coordinate activities and foster a nurturing home-like environment for students in Akure.

    Qualifications

  • Experience in student welfare, guidance, and counseling
  • Must be a university degree holder
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain discipline and manage conflicts
  • Organizational skills and ability to coordinate activities
  • Empathy, patience, and sensitivity in dealing with adolescents
  • Experience in a boarding school setting is a plus
  • Commitment to upholding the Christian ethos of the school
