Scholarship Offers 2027-2028

We are excited to announce that this year's scholarship examination will take place in all our examination centres at 9.00am on Saturday 30th January 2027.

OFFER 1: PRESTON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

The Board of Directors of Preston International School is committed to recognising and rewarding outstanding academic achievement. Each year, scholarships are awarded to the top ten (10) students in the school’s Scholarship Examination.

The scholarships cover tuition fees only for one academic year, as follows:

  • 1st Position: 100% Tuition Scholarship
  • 2nd Position: 75% Tuition Scholarship
  • 3rd Position: 50% Tuition Scholarship
  • 4th–10th Positions: 40% Tuition Scholarship

Continuation of the Scholarship

Each scholarship award is valid for one academic year only. However, students have the opportunity to earn a scholarship again in subsequent academic sessions based on their academic performance.

At the end of each academic session, students who finish among the 1st to 10th overall positions in their year group will qualify for the scholarship corresponding to the position they attain.

This means that a student who continues to emerge 1st overall in their year group may continue to enjoy a 100% tuition scholarship throughout their time at Preston International School. If the student subsequently finishes in another position within the top ten, the scholarship will be adjusted to the percentage attached to that position.

In this way, the Preston International School Merit Scholarship rewards not only excellence at entry, but also sustained academic excellence throughout a student’s journey at Preston.

OFFER 2: PRESTON ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

Our former students, through their registered charity, the Preston Shining Lights Foundation (PSLF), also provide scholarship opportunities for a select number of deserving students who sit the Preston Scholarship Examination.

The Alumni Scholarship is designed to support academically outstanding students with strong leadership potential whose families require financial assistance to access the quality education offered at Preston International School.

Applicants are considered on the basis of the following criteria:

1. Outstanding Academic Achievement

The student should have a proven record of excellent academic performance in their previous school, supported by strong performance in the Preston Scholarship Examination.

2. Demonstrated Leadership Potential

The student should demonstrate strong leadership qualities in school and beyond, including at home, in church and within the wider community.

3. Genuine Need for Financial Support

Having satisfied the academic and leadership criteria above, the student’s family should demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance to enable the child to access the quality, world-class education offered at Preston International School.

What the Alumni Scholarship Covers

The Preston Alumni Scholarship currently provides support towards:

  • Boarding
  • School uniforms
  • Books
  • Feeding

A student may qualify for both the Preston International School Merit Scholarship and the Preston Alumni Scholarship, subject to meeting the respective selection criteria. This means that a deserving student may receive a tuition scholarship from the school while also receiving additional support from PSLF towards other educational and boarding expenses.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Primary School Proprietors, Heads of Schools, Headteachers and Parents are especially encouraged to nominate or enrol outstanding pupils for the Preston Scholarship Examination, particularly children who rank among the top five (5) students in their current schools.

The Scholarship Examination is offered FREE OF CHARGE to these exceptional students.

We encourage schools and families to give their brightest children the opportunity to compete for a place at Preston International School and potentially benefit from significant financial support towards their education.

Excellence Deserves Opportunity. Talent Deserves to be Nurtured.

At Preston International School, our desire is to ensure that exceptional students are given the opportunity to learn, lead, thrive and fulfil their God-given potential, irrespective of financial circumstances.
