Preston International School at NISSMUN 2022 Conference In Abuja FCT

Preston International School students joined 42 other international secondary schools in Nigeria on the 15th October, 2022 to participate in the 18th Nigerian International Secondary Model United Nations (NISSMUN) Conference which was themed – "Climate Crisis As The Most Urgent Threat Of Our Time".

This annual, interactive, educational event, recognized by the United Nations for senior secondary school students within and outside the country, helps students - known as delegates at the conference, take on roles as representatives of United Nations member to discuss and debate most pressing global issues, and proffer innovative solutions to the problems.

Over the years, Prestonians have used this conference to develop their diplomatic skills and relations needed to build a more tolerant and peaceful future. It has also helped to create an avenue for our students to build valuable friendships and promote cooperation even as they enjoy arrays of activities such as special youth inter-religious assembly, seminars on leadership skills and communication skills, general assembly, committee sessions, Inter-generational dialogue on peace, tolerance and conflict resolution, happy hours, world cultural night, elections of officials and gala/awards night during the conference.

Adding colours to the event was the cultural night where delegates stepped out in their diverse cultural attires and different schools duly represented in their attires and cultural display. With so much energy and excitement, Prestonians once again wowed the audience with their stellar performance.

The highlight of the 5-days programme was the Gala/Awards Night where delegates dazzled in their colourful dresses and smashing apparels. Okoli Chinanza, a Prestonian, was awarded the Best Delegate of Economic Community of West African States.

At the end of the events, Preston International School emerged second overall best school out of 43 international secondary schools that performed during the World Cultural Night.

Our profound appreciation to our ever-supportive parents, our committed staff members who accompanied the children and took good care of them, Overland Airways and Green Africa Airways for always being there for safe flight. God bless you all. Amen.

We return all the Glory to God Almighty for the success of the trip.
