SS2 Geography excursion to Erin-Ijesha waterfalls - 2020
“The more you make it (learning) easy for your kids, the more you remove the struggle necessary for learning.” - Maxime Lagacé
As part of our core patterns of education in Preston International School, the SS2 geography students made a field trip to Olumirin waterfalls, Erin-Ijesha, Osun state on Saturday the 20th of January, 2020, with the mindset of education beyond the walls of a classroom.
It was indeed learning made easy as the students learnt in sight and feel that the waterfall is a stunning assemblage of seven unique levels, with each level providing a whole new outlook when compared to the previous level. The level of water is also constant throughout the year – something only nature can produce. This gave the students a unique feel beyond classroom learning, the crisp air, fresh atmosphere, serenity and the adventure of climbing, seeing and discovering are only but a few of the excitement here. As exciting as it was, their teachers in persons of Mr. Ogana Sunday and Mr. Obajemihi Splendor nailed in the educational importance on their adventure to this very location. Learning with fun makes a whole lot of difference.
