SSS1 Geography Students’ Excursion to Ikogosi Warm Springs
On the 22nd of June 2019, the SSS1 Geography Students embarked on a trip, to explore the vegetation, landmarks and exquisite wonders of the lkogosi warm springs.
This spring located in a serene environment of Ikogosi town, Ekiti state is considered mysterious by some people. Flowing beside the warm spring is a cold spring. The water originates from close proximity and meets at a confluence with each maintaining its thermal properties. The students learnt that the warm spring has a temperature of about 70oC at the source and 37oC at the confluence surrounded by beautiful green vegetation.
It was a thrilling experience where they were also informed of the mythical historical background surrounding the warm and cold water formation. Afterwards, the student finished off the day by heading on to the Akure Mall.
What an insightful and adventurous outing it was for the participants.
