On Thursday, 15 October 2026, Dr. Toyin Ajayi, Proprietor of Preston International School, delivered a presentation at the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Nigeria Southwest Regional Conference 2026 on “School and Business Ventures: Stewardship for Christian Schools.”
His presentation explored how Christian schools can strengthen their financial sustainability through responsible enterprise while remaining firmly committed to their spiritual and educational purpose.
Drawing on biblical principles, Dr. Ajayi emphasised that faithful stewardship involves careful planning, diligent management and accountability. He highlighted how thoughtfully managed business ventures can reduce dependence on tuition fees and provide resources for scholarships, teacher development, improved facilities and community outreach.
Exploring opportunities ranging from school farms and publishing to digital training and the appropriate use of school facilities, he encouraged school leaders to consider ventures that meet genuine needs and align with their schools’ capabilities. He also stressed the importance of transparent financial records, clearly assigned responsibilities and regular performance reviews.
Central to his message was the need to safeguard the Christian mission. Enterprise should support excellent teaching and discipleship, with every business decision reflecting the values entrusted to the school.
At Preston International School, we recognise that responsible leadership helps sustain the quality of education families depend on. Our commitment to academic excellence and Christian character includes thoughtful stewardship of the people, resources and opportunities entrusted to us, so that our students can continue to learn, grow in faith and prepare for lives of purpose and service.
