Preston Celebrates International Day of the Girl Child - 2026

Today, 11 October 2026, as the world marks the International Day of the Girl Child, we share moments from Preston International School’s celebration held on Friday, 9 October.
Under the theme “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights,” the programme brought together creative expression and meaningful conversation, affirming every girl’s right to learn, grow and shape her future.
The morning featured a playlet titled “She’s Just A Girl,” followed by an afternoon seminar with opening remarks delivered by Mrs. Blessing Agbara.
Our guest speaker, QS (Mrs.) Temitope Elizabeth Momoh, spoke about purpose, encouraging our girls to recognise their potential and approach their futures with confidence and intention. A question-and-answer session provided further opportunities for learning and dialogue.
At Preston, we believe every girl deserves the education, guidance and opportunities to discover her purpose and pursue her aspirations.
As we reflect on these moments, our message remains clear: protect her childhood, invest in her education and uphold her right to shape her own future.
