From Monday, 5 October to Friday, 9 October 2026, Preston International School marked Black History Month with a week of learning, creativity and reflection.

Through an interactive Black History Quiz, spoken-word presentations and spotlight sessions on Elijah McCoy and Rosa Parks, our students explored stories of courage, innovation, resilience and achievement. A drama about Claudia Jones brought history to life, highlighting her contributions as an activist, journalist and organiser.

A vibrant Black Excellence and Cultural Fashion Parade, alongside the “Honoring Our Community” panel discussion, celebrated identity, heritage and belonging. These pictures capture moments of discovery, pride and inspiration from a memorable week.

At Preston, we nurture curiosity, honour heritage and inspire every learner to lead with knowledge, empathy and purpose. By connecting classroom learning with history, culture and creative expression, we help our students develop the confidence, understanding and values to contribute meaningfully to the world.
